It belongs to the 23.3-metre class, a series of seven rescue cruisers operated by the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS). <\/p>\n<p>Designed as a rescue cruiser, it is perfectly suited for use in the Mediterranean (year of construction: 1990). Thanks to her powerful engines, she can quickly reach boats in distress. As a small ship, it cannot be sent to distant ports by the Italian authorities. This means that no valuable time is lost in the search and rescue zone.   <\/p>\n<p>There is also an infirmary on board where patients can be treated and pregnant women and dehydrated people can receive emergency care.
