Why 16,67 € monthly?
We are planning annual costs of €600,000 for the full operation of the SEA-EYE 5. If 3,000 people agree to donate €16.67 or more per month, the operation is secured for the entire year. We will then be able to deploy our new rescue cruiser continuously and reliably wherever people are fighting for their lives.
How does a ship sponsorship help?
Regular donations give us planning security and are the basis for carrying out our rescue missions in the Mediterranean. With the SEA-EYE 5, we are bringing an ideally suited rescue cruiser to the operation area that can save hundreds of lives. Together with 2,999 ship sponsors and your monthly support, you form the backbone for the operation of our new rescue ship.
What makes the SEA-EYE 5 so special?
The SEA EYE 5 is a fast and flexible rescue ship. It belongs to the 23.3-metre class, a series of seven rescue cruisers operated by the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS).
Designed as a rescue cruiser, it is perfectly suited for use in the Mediterranean (year of construction: 1990). Thanks to her powerful engines, she can quickly reach boats in distress. As a small ship, it cannot be sent to distant ports by the Italian authorities. This means that no valuable time is lost in the search and rescue zone.
There is also an infirmary on board where patients can be treated and pregnant women and dehydrated people can receive emergency care. The equipment and operation is made possible by German Doctors e.V.

Simply enter the name of the recipient in the donation form, print out a personalized sponsorship certificate and hand it over.
Will I receive a donation receipt?
You do not need a donation receipt for donations of up to €300. To claim your donation for tax purposes, your bank statement in conjunction with our Bestätigung über die Zuwendung für das Finanzamt.
For individual donations of €300 or more, you will automatically receive a donation receipt from us the following month.
We send the donation receipts to permanent donors after the end of the year.
