Operations Coordinator (SAR Operations and Medical) (m/f/d)
Your Responsibilities
- Operational support and mission management from shore (including active participation as part of the Director of Mission team on call with continuous availability for the mission management on the ship)
- Coordination of the medical team with active involvement, particularly in mission preparation and support for medical crews, in the development and evaluation of standardized medical training, and in the logistics of the ship’s hospital
- Further development of communication and process optimization in the area of mission coordination
- Participation in and partial organization of meetings (primarily digital)
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as well as to work weekends
Your Profile
- Sound interest in and understanding of sea rescue, displacement, and migration
- Experience in leading people and organizing teams, designing processes, and a willingness to work with volunteers
- Basic knowledge in the field of maritime operations, emergency medical services, or comparable professional fields
- Medical qualification, e.g., as an emergency medical technician or in nursing
- Flexibility regarding working hours with respect to evening appointments and on-call duties, as well as occasional business trips (e.g., visiting the ship on-site)
- Strong initiative and self-organization
- High resilience and the ability to remain calm and rational in crisis situations
- Excellent written and spoken English skills; ideally, additional proficiency in German and Italian
- Mission or sea experience desirable
