Route 4: A documentary by Sea-Eye

For over 15 months, a media team accompanied the rescue vessel ALAN KURDI on several rotations in the Mediterranean.

In addition to numerous moving moments at sea, footage was also shot in countries such as Niger, Tunisia, Libya, Italy and Malta.

Although “Route 4” is framed by a single theme – namely, the danger emanating from and within Libya – the aim is not to tell a continuous narrative. Rather, we want to give viewers a glimpse into what has been experienced and witnessed.

We would like to draw attention to the problems the EU has created for itself. To the suffering and hardships people endure on their journeys, and to the incredible work of the NGOs, who are the only ones taking on the task of rescuing people in the Mediterranean.
