Regensburg Saves Lives

From September 1 to December 31, 2025, the City of Regensburg matched every single donation made to Sea-Eye—up to a total of €30,000.

Sea-Eye was founded in Regensburg 10 years ago, and from here we are giving the organization a new boost today—especially now that the federal government has cut state funding for civil sea rescue. Without these funds, the rescue vessel SEA-EYE 5 risks remaining in port while people drown.

In January 2026, the mayor ceremoniously presented the city’s donation. A total of over €60,000 was raised.

The fundraising campaign:

In July 2025, Regensburg became a sponsor of the SEA-EYE 5. As part of this initiative, a fundraising campaign was launched calling on all residents of Regensburg and friends of the city to support the ship’s life-saving missions.
